JOB SUMMARY:
Main Purpose of Position:
As a Data Protection Product Manager at Druva, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of our data protection solutions. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of data privacy and protection, to ensure our products remain at the forefront of the rapidly evolving data security landscape. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build innovative, scalable, and secure products that meet both customer and regulatory needs, all while driving the continued success of Druva’s cloud-native data protection platform. Druva’s focus on cloud-native data protection and positions the role within Druva’s product ecosystem, with a specific emphasis on compliance and data security in the context of its solutions.

Product Lifecycle Management
|
Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of Druva’s data protection products, ensuring timely and successful delivery while optimising performance. |
Product Strategy Development |
Design and execute product strategies that align with Druva’s mission to provide secure, scalable cloud data protection solutions while meeting legal, compliance, and customer requirements. |
Collaboration with Legal and Compliance Teams |
Work closely with Druva’s legal, compliance, and security teams to ensure that our data protection products comply with global data privacy laws such as GDPR, CCPA, POPIA, and more. |
Market and Competitive Research |
Evaluate emerging trends, customer pain points, and competitor products to continuously improve Druva’s data protection offerings and stay ahead of the curve in the cloud data protection space. |
Cross-functional Collaboration |
Work alongside sales, design, and marketing teams to define and deliver Druva’s product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory changes. |
Stakeholder Communication |
Regularly communicate product progress, challenges, and updates to internal stakeholders, including executives, ensuring alignment across the organisation. |
Customer Engagement |
Serve as the product expert, educating customers on Druva’s data protection solutions, features, and the value of cloud-based protection for compliance. |
Risk Mitigation |
Ensure that Druva’s data protection solutions are robust, secure, and scalable, effectively mitigating risks associated with data breaches, loss, and privacy violations. |
Product Optimisation |
Monitor product performance and customer feedback, using data-driven insights to prioritize enhancements and new features that drive customer satisfaction and compliance success. |

REQUIREMENTS:
Internal training associated with competencies:
- During the first week of your employment, you’ll be presented with a meticulously crafted learning map designed to seamlessly guide you through your on-the-job training experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification in product management (e.g., PMI-ACP, CSPO) or data protection (e.g., CIPP, CIPM).
- Previous experience working in the SaaS or cloud space, particularly within data protection or backup solutions.
- Understanding of modern encryption, data anonymization, and tokenization techniques used in cloud data protection.
- Experience with Druva’s data protection platform and related technologies is a plus.
Minimum Experience:
- Experience: Proven track record in product management, ideally in cloud data protection, cybersecurity, or compliance-focused roles, with experience delivering successful products in fast-paced environments.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of global data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, POPIA) and how they shape the development and delivery of data protection products.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data protection technologies such as backup and recovery, encryption, secure cloud storage, and other data privacy solutions.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Project Management: Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex product launches from concept through to delivery.
- Analytical Skills: Data-driven decision-making ability to assess product performance, identify trends, and optimize product offerings.
- Adaptability: Ability to navigate and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, embracing change and innovation.

Office Requirements:
- Work-from-office environment.
- Semi-formal dress code.
- Working hours are from 08:00 – 17:00.
- Excellent international business language skills (English), both written and verbal.
- Reliable transport to and from the office.

- This is a permanent position subject to a three-month probationary period.
